Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie banned from royal events for ‘foreseeable future’

· Toronto Sun

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly “blindsided” after they were banned from attending the Royal Ascot or any other royal event “for the foreseeable future” amid their family’s ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson appear several times in the Epstein files released by the U.S. government, as do their daughters, who will not be attending the annual Royal Ascot in June — neither in the Royal Box for the horse-racing event nor with other senior royals for the Procession.

“I’ve spoken to my friend who works at Ascot and they said the girls have been told they can’t be there this year,” a source told the Daily Mail .

“Beatrice has taken it the hardest. She’s been completely blindsided by all of this.”

Royals turn on the Beatrice and Eugenie?

Allowing the princesses to attend royal events suggests that Buckingham Palace is turning a blind eye to the family’s connection to the late convicted sex offender.

Prince William also advised other royals to not appear in photos with Beatrice, 27, and Eugenie, 35, “for the rest of the year,” the insider told the outlet.

Concerns about the princesses’ possible financial ties to Epstein have mounted in recent months.

The palace is aware that Andrew and his business friends acted as Beatrice and Eugenie’s financial advisers and “no one is quite sure what might not be entirely above board” a source previously told the Daily Mail .

Prince William was said to be frustrated that his cousins refused his suggestion to subject their personal investments to an “ethics check,” the outlet reported.

The Charity Commission has also confirmed it is “assessing concerns“ about spending after the latest Epstein files sparked questions about Eugenie’s charity, The Anti-Slavery Collective, the U.K. Times reported, with one royal biographer calling it a “preposterously inappropriate cause.“

The most recent batch of Epstein communications released by the U.S. Justice Department also showed that Beatrice offered her mother tips on how to get back on Epstein’s good side and encouraged her father to give his disastrous interview with the BBC in 2019, in which he discussed his relationship with Epstein, who died by suicide that same year.

The former Duke of York was connected to the late Virginia Giuffre, with whom he was accused of having sex when she was a teenager.

Giuffre died by suicide at age 44 last year , but her posthumous memoir Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice suggested that the then-prince behaved as if sex with her was a “birthright.”

Andrew was stripped of his military titles and patronages by the late Queen Elizabeth in January 2022 after a judge rejected his attempt to have Giuffre’s sex assault lawsuit against him dismissed.

He eventually settled with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed sum.

A long time coming?

Last month, Andrew was arrested and detained by police for 11 hours on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Andrew has long denied any wrongdoing, but King Charles stripped him of his royal titles days after his arrest.

Meanwhile, Fergie appears multiple times in the latest Epstein evidence drop, including one email in which she asked to work as the pedophile’s house assistant because she “desperately” needed money and other correspondence asking for bankruptcy advice .

She reportedly fled and checked into a wellness clinic in Switzerland to get away from the messy headlines.

“She always feels at home at Paracelsus and knows she’ll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she’s feeling at her most vulnerable,” a source told the Daily Mail.
