Rampage hockey team to compete for 7th state title

The Owensboro Rampage high school hockey team will take the ice this weekend in the Kentucky High School Hockey League State Tournament, held March 6-8 at the Iceland Sports Complex in Louisville.

Entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed, the Rampage will play the winner of the first-round matchup between St. Xavier and Trinity on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m.
Owensboro enters the state tournament with a strong tradition of success and will be competing for the program’s seventh state championship. The Rampage previously captured Kentucky High School Hockey League titles in 2012, 2016, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024, establishing themselves as one of the premier high school hockey programs in the state.
The tournament brings together the top teams from across Kentucky for a weekend of high-level competition and the opportunity to claim the state title.
“Our players have worked incredibly hard all season to put themselves in this position,” states head coach, Branson Link. “The program has built a proud championship tradition, and this group is excited for the opportunity to compete for another title.”
The Rampage roster features student-athletes from across the tri-state area who have spent the season developing their skills and competing against the top high school programs in the state.
Fans, family members and supporters are encouraged to travel to Louisville and cheer on the Rampage as they pursue another Kentucky High School Hockey League championship.
