The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.

The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.
Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.
Next up is linebacker Mack Wilson.
Mack Wilson 2025 season
Wilson, in his second season with the Cardinals, took over as the team's "Mike" linebacker, replacing the departed Kyzir White as the relayer of the defensive playcalls.
He played in eight games before suffering a season-ending rib injury against the Dallas Cowboys. In those eight games, all starts, he had 60 total tackles, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble, an interception and six pass breakups.
While things were not going well defensively with him in the lineup, after he got hurt, the defense was terrible. They didn't win again after his injury and allowed over 30 points six times.
Mack Wilson contract status
Wilson enters the final year of the three-year, $12.75 million contract he signed in 2024. He is scheduled to make nearly $3.4 million in salary, counting more than $4.2 million against the salary cap.
Mack Wilson offseason outlook
Wilson presumably enters 2026 as the team's starting Mike linebacker again. That perhaps could change, depending on free agency, allowing him to move back to the versatile off-ball position he played in 2024. But with Nick Rallis returning as defensive coordinator, we can expect Wilson to continue to be the defensive quarterback in the middle of the defense.
