Panthers re-sign starting defender

The Carolina Panthers have brought back one of their starting defenders from the 2025 campaign.
As announced on Saturday afternoon, the team has re-signed safety Nick Scott to a one-year deal. The veteran defensive back started in all 18 games for the Panthers, including their wild-card round appearance against the Los Angeles Rams in January.

Scott has played his last two seasons in Carolina. Over 27 total games between 2024 and 2025, he's amassed 141 combined tackles (111 this past year), an interception, five passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
Along with Scott, the Panthers have also re-signed wide receiver David Moore, tight end James Mitchell, defensive lineman LaBryan Ray, outside linebacker Thomas Incoom, inside linebacker Claudin Cherelus, cornerbacks Akayleb Evans and Robert Rochell, safety Isaiah Simmons and long snapper JJ Jansen.
