Israel has reportedly targeted the secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, Ali Larijani, in an airstrike in Iran overnight, according to Israeli officials.
However, it is not yet clear whether Larijani was killed or injured in the strike. There has been no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has also not confirmed the devlopment.

Who Is Ali Larijani?
Ali Larijani is a veteran politician and long-time confidant of Ali Khamenei. A former speaker of Iran’s parliament, he currently serves as Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), the body responsible for shaping the country’s defence and nuclear policies.

Meanwhile, the United States-Israel military campaign against Iran entered its 18th day with continued airstrikes and retaliatory exchanges. The operations, codenamed Epic Fury and Roaring Lion, reportedly killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior IRGC commanders.
