Cousins threw for 1,721 yards in 2025 in his second season with the Atlanta Falcons. The Illinois native also had 10 touchdown passes and only five interceptions in 10 games (eight starts) last season.
Las Vegas entered the month of April with Aidan O’Connell as the only quarterback on its roster. The Raiders struck a deal with Cousins just three weeks prior to the start of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Raiders are expected to select Indiana’s Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft to make him their franchise quarterback. The move for Cousins gives Las Vegas a seasoned veteran with playoff experience, who is also just two years removed from throwing for 3,508 yards with a 66.9 percent completion rate across 14 games played for Atlanta in 2024.
Cousins reunites with Raiders coach Klint Kubiak, after Kubiak coached Cousins on the Minnesota Vikings from 2019-21.
