The news quickly went viral, with fans joking that the tight timeline might explain some of the show’s signature repetitive dialogue and consistent wardrobe choices.
Others defended the rapid pace, citing their enjoyment of the addictive soapy clashes between dancer Kimmie (played by actor Taylor Polidore Williams) and cosmetics empire boss Mallory (played by former pageant queen Crystle Stewart) that keep viewers hooked.
A chart-topping show
Despite the ultra-fast filming, Beauty in Black has proven its strong appeal.
According to an October 2025 article by The Hollywood Reporter, the show scored the top overall spot on Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week with 1.35 billion minutes of viewing time. As a result, it dethroned Tim Burton’s Wednesday as the overall leader.
Season 3 is the show’s series finale, and although all six episodes are already in the can, it won’t arrive on Netflix until 2027.
After lamenting the long waits between seasons 1 and 2 and in between both parts of the second season, viewers will have to face another long wait for Kimmie’s final showdown with the Bellarie family supported by two new allies in the form of Horace (Ricco Ross) and Mallory.
This isn’t new for Tyler Perry’s process
While the six-day schedule for Season 3 stands out as a new personal record, it is in line with Perry’s well-known hands-on, high-speed approach to filmmaking and television.
The Madea creator has long been open about writing every script himself without a traditional writers’ room. He has shared in past interviews that he often completes full seasons or feature scripts in about two weeks because “it’s all in my head”.
He previously showcased massive stacks of scripts he wrote solo in 2019 in an Instagram and Twitter-shared video, stating: “I have no writers’ room. Nobody writes any of my work. I write it all.”
He also claimed that early experiments with outside writers reportedly caused ratings to drop because the stories no longer felt authentic to his audience.
