UCLA became the latest women's basketball National Champion with a dominant victory over South Carolina. So, don't be surprised to see them dance all throughout the celebration.
The Bruins' impressive season concluded with just one loss and one added dance routine. As UCLA has cruised through the NCAA tournament this year, the women frequently danced the same routine in the celebration.
Now that UCLA has won, the routine has become synonymous with a championship. Here's a breakdown of UCLA's dancing.
Who started the UCLA viral celebration TikToks?
According to the Los Angeles Times, UCLA starter Charlisse Leger-Walker asked the UCLA dance team to teach her, Lauren Betts and Gabriela Jaquez a routine.
"One of the dance captains [Kaili Tam] reached out to me, and she was like, 'oh my gosh,' like, if you wanted to ever do a collab with the dance team, we would totally be down," Leger-Walker told Marisa Ingemi. "I was like, totally. Like, I'm so down for this."
Leger-Walker and Jaquez posted a video of them learning the routine on YouTube, which got 1,200 likes in 24 hours. Then, the trio performed the routine at halftime of the UCLA men's basketball halftime against Nebraska, which blew up online.

Controversy and backlash
After UCLA's routine went viral, the Bruins frequently posted different videos of them doing the same routine in the past month. However, some fans quickly got tired of the dance, which was all over the women's NCAA tournament.
