Browns add experienced cornerback to roster ahead of NFL Draft
· Yahoo Sports
The Cleveland Browns have added a veteran to a position lacking on the roster as they prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft. While well-traveled cornerback Myles Bryant will not stop the Browns from looking at the nickel cornerback position in the draft, he does bring veteran savvy to the roster.

Bryant is a former undrafted free agent from the 2020 NFL Draft, signing with the New England Patriots. He spent four years with the Patriots before signing with the Houston Texans in 2024. Bryant has spent most of his NFL career on the practice squad in both New England and Houston, so we could be looking at a similar trajectory for the veteran this year in Cleveland.
The details of the contract have not yet been released, but it is likely a veteran minimum deal.
How Bryant potentially fits with the Browns
Defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg loves versatile defensive backs. And through his NFL career, Bryant has been a versatile player. While the majority of his NFL snaps have come in the slot, over 1,600 of them, he does have over 300 career snaps at both free safety, outside cornerback, and from the box as well. The Browns need a nickel cornerback, so the 28-year-old has a chance to make his mark on this new defensive staff.
He will be competing with 2024 seventh round pick for the nickel job currently ahead of the NFL Draft. This does not prohibit the Browns from selecting a nickel cornerback in the draft, though, as Indiana's D'Angelo Ponds or Oregon's Jadon Canady could be prime targets for them to select.
