LSU (22-11, 6-6 SEC) defeated Tennessee (20-12, 4-8 SEC), 16-6, in 12 innings on Sunday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Tigers clinched a series win, 2-1.
LSU won its first series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium since 2016.

First-year head coach Josh Elander discussed the series finale loss after the game and what his message is to his team.
“Just keep going,” Elander said. “Keep going. You know, we've talked about being close and how do we finish, but at some point they have to make the decision to collectively do it and believe they can together. We've been in some of these games, but this one should be a lot of expensive experience and a reminder that the game can turn on a dime.
“If you don't finish, other teams will will get you in this league.”
Tennessee will next play on Tuesday against Northern Kentucky. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. EDT at Lindsey Nelson Stadium (SEC Network+).
