Heiskanen, 26, pointed out that for him, the solution to getting the offense going is to defend better. Although he also acknowledged that the Golden Knights were simply better than them.
"What do you think has made it difficult to get the offense going the last couple of games?" he was asked after the game. He responded, "I mean, they're good teams and, you know, I think we just have to defend a little better and try to get out of the zone a little quicker."
"And, you know, go play offense after that, but I mean, it's a, you know, good teams playing against us, and then it's a tight game, and there's not much room, but just have to find it somehow. I think it's defending a little better, getting out of our zone, and getting to the other side."
Stars host Devils on Tuesday before four-game road trip
Heiskanen admitted that Vegas was the better team in certain periods, though he noted that Dallas started the game well.
"Yeah, I mean, they played well. I think we started pretty well. First period was tight and, you know, got the lead there too, but after that, they kept pushing, and we just couldn't get our best, and we were defending too much and couldn't get the offense going really. They were better last, second, and third period, I think."
The Stars host the New Jersey Devils at American Airlines Center on Tuesday, March 24 at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET). After that, they will begin a four-game road trip against the Islanders, the Penguins, the Flyers, and the Bruins.
